The City of Bulawayo has announced planned improvement works on Jason Moyo Street between 4th and 5th Avenue, set to begin on Monday, 19 January 2026.

The project, covering a 160-metre stretch, is expected to take two to three weeks to complete, depending on weather conditions.

In a public notice issued by Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube, the city outlined that the works will include road pavement reconstruction, pothole patching, surfacing, stormwater drainage cleaning, carriageway reinstatement, parking bay markings and other routine maintenance activities.

Upon completion, the upgrades are expected to extend the road’s lifespan, enhance safety and improve ride quality for all road users.

To ensure safety during construction, traffic management measures that include lane closures where necessary, traffic diversions and controlled access between 4th and 5th Avenue will be implemented.

The city assured the public that every effort will be made to minimise disruption to traffic flow, local businesses, and residents.

Motorists and pedestrians are strongly urged to exercise caution, observe all warning signs, and follow designated detour routes when approaching the works area.
