Zimbabwe Under-19s suffered a heavy 204-run defeat to India in their ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Super Six match at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo yesterday, despite a fighting half-century from Leeroy Chiwaula.

India posted a commanding 352 for eight after winning the toss and batting first. Vihaan Malhotra led the charge with an unbeaten 109, supported by Abhigyan Kundu’s 61. Tatenda Chimugoro was Zimbabwe’s standout bowler, claiming three for 49.

In reply, Zimbabwe’s chase faltered early after losing three wickets inside the first nine overs. Chiwaula offered resistance with a determined 62 off 77 balls, sharing key partnerships with Kian Blignaut and Chimugoro, but lacked support.

Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 148, as India’s bowlers wrapped up the innings swiftly to seal a dominant victory.
