Zimbabwe’s Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Torerayi Moyo, has announced a new national initiative to promote and reward academic excellence in schools.

The Ministry will recognize and award the top 10 best-performing schools in each province, based on 2025 pass rates for Grade 7, Ordinary and Advanced Levels.

The awards, set for 20 March 2026, will highlight schools that demonstrate strong commitment to academic achievement and holistic learner development, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 ;quality education.

The top 5 schools in the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council and Cambridge exams will also be honoured. Minister Moyo invites support from individuals, corporates and development partners to help motivate teachers and headmasters.

Sponsorships, awards, grants or other assistance can be channelled through the Ministry’s Head Office. The initiative aims to set benchmarks for quality education and inspire other schools nationwide.
