Bulawayo artist Fab G Mshanakagogo says the success of his hit song Imali Yes’gweja shows that audiences connect most with music that reflects real-life experiences, a lesson he says is shaping his future work.

Speaking to SkyzMetro FM, Fab G Mshanakagogo said he was surprised by how strongly the song resonated with listeners, adding that he did not anticipate its emotional impact.

He said the response has influenced his creative direction, reinforcing the value of authentic storytelling over purely hook-driven sounds.

Fab G also noted that he hopes to use his music to unite people and support causes that drive positive social change.
