Youth Day Celebrations Set for Marondera

Government is preparing for the 2026 National Youth Day Celebrations, scheduled for February 21 at Igava Training Centre in Marondera, Mashonaland East Province.

Held under the theme “Youth Agenda for Transformation,” this year’s commemorations aim to advance youth empowerment and drive regional development.

A new Vocational and Youth Centre, named after President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, is being established at Igava and will feature modern infrastructure including smart workshops, digital laboratories and sports amenities.

The centre is expected to provide skills training and entrepreneurial support, targeting up to 30,000 youths across the country.

Government says the initiative is designed to create employment opportunities and equip young people particularly those not in education or employment with practical skills for economic participation.
