Two men have been convicted by the Bulawayo Regional Court for unlawfully dealing in dangerous drugs after being found in possession of 37 kilograms of dagga in Bulawayo.
Lucias Moyo and Musawenkosi Donga were each sentenced to nine years in prison, with three years suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, leaving an effective six-year custodial sentence for each offender.
The court heard that on the 15th of December 2025, detectives received a tip-off that Donga had taken delivery of a large consignment of loose dagga and had stored it at Moyo’s residence in Rangemore.
Police investigations led to the recovery of 76 plastic-wrapped packets of cannabis weighing a total of 37 kilograms, with an estimated street value of ZiG 1,110,000.
Authorities say drug trafficking remains a serious threat to communities, particularly young people, warning that the circulation of dangerous drugs undermines public safety, fuels criminal networks and destroys families.
