Youth Economic Fund targets all 10 provinces with US$1m

A US$1 million Youth Economic Fund has been launched to improve access to finance for youth-led enterprises across Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces.

The fund was unveiled at the Youth in Business Forum 2026, held on the sidelines of the ongoing Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo. It will be disbursed through EmpowerBank in partnership with key stakeholders.

Officials said the initiative aims to support entrepreneurship, innovation and business growth among young people. It is also intended to advance youth participation in national economic development.

Details on application criteria, interest rates and disbursement timelines were not immediately released.

The Youth in Business Forum 2026 was held at ZITF Hall 2 as part of events running alongside the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, which concludes on 25 April.
