Bulawayo city council has announced the temporary closure of key roads on 23 April, from 7am in the morning to 5pm in the afternoon, to facilitate the official opening of the 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
Hillside Road between 14th Avenue and 23rd Avenue/Burns Drive intersection, as well as Samuel Parirenyatwa Street between 12th Avenue and 14th Avenue, will be closed during the event.
Authorities say diversion routes will be clearly marked, with traffic redirected via Matopos Road and 12th Avenue Extension. All junctions feeding into Hillside Road within the affected stretch will also be closed and monitored by a traffic management team.
City officials added that access to properties and junctions within the restricted area will be facilitated by traffic personnel to ensure safe movement where necessary.
The local authority has urged motorists and the general public to exercise caution, adhere to road signage, and follow instructions from traffic officials throughout the day.
