The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) has issued a public alert warning citizens about a fraudulent recruitment advert currently circulating on social media platforms. The fake notice, posted by unknown individuals, is intended to mislead and defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The ZNA has categorically stated that it has not released any general duty soldiers’ recruitment advert for 2026 and does not use social media for recruitment purposes.
Official recruitment communications are only made through formal channels such as electronic and print media. The Army also clarified that it does not engage third-party agents for recruitment and does not charge applicants any fees at any stage of the process.
Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to avoid engaging with anyone claiming to be a ZNA recruitment agent or requesting payment. Anyone found impersonating ZNA recruitment officials will face prosecution.
The ZNA has advised that anyone who encounters suspicious individuals posing as recruitment agents should immediately report them to the nearest Zimbabwe Republic Police station or military camp.
