Three Juveniles Held Over Girl’s Death

Police have urged communities to report rape and sexual abuse cases immediately following the death of a six-year-old girl from Nketa who was allegedly assaulted by three boys.

According to police, the alleged assault occurred on 3 May 2026, but the matter was not immediately reported and the child did not receive urgent medical attention.

The girl later complained of severe pain and reportedly died at home.Investigations also revealed that the child may have been sexually assaulted earlier this year, but the incident was allegedly concealed.

Three juveniles aged 14, 13 and another minor have since been arrested in connection with the case.

Speaking to SkyzMetro FM, Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu urged parents and guardians to report sexual abuse cases without delay to allow police and health officials to intervene quickly.
