Municipality of Gwanda receives two ambulances

Gwanda Municipality received two ambulances donated by a local businessman , Mr Fisani Moyo.

Minister of State Matebeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution , Hon Abednico Ncube presided over the hand over ceremony at the local authority offices.

Minister Ncube said the donation will relieve Gwanda town from shortages of ambulances and will help everyone in the town whenever there is an emergency.

“This donation is going to help residents in Gwanda who were experiencing some difficulties when there are accidents . These ambulances will be used by our local hospital and now there is no excuse that they are not available.”

The Mayor of Gwanda town Njabulo Siziba commended the good gesture shown by the business man and said the ambulances came at a time when they were needed the most.

” Gwanda Town has been facing a lot of challenges when it comes to ambulances and we have been rescued from the challenges. Residents were hiring umshikashika to access the health facilities in cases of an emergency ” , he said.

Gwanda Town Clerk, Priscilla Nkala echoed similar sentiments that the donation is very important to the town.

She said the Manicipality has been operating for two years without any functional ambulance.
