Air Zimbabwe urged to utilise opportunities brought by Africa Gender 2063 Flagship program

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development Honourable Felix Mhona has urged Air Zimbabwe to utilise opportunities brought by the implementation of Africa Gender 2063 Flagship programme.
He was speaking during the unveiling of an Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft bought by Air Zimbabwe at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare yesterday
According to the African Union, the flagship projects of Agenda 2063 refers to key programmes and initiatives which have been identified as key to accelerating Africa’s economic growth and development as well as promoting our common identity by celebrating our history and our vibrant culture.
“Allow me to encourage air Zimbabwe to seize the opportunties that rise in the implementation of the Africa Agenda 2063 flagship program of the single African air tranport” ,said Mhona.
The Flagship projects encompass amongst others infrastructure, education, science, technology, arts and culture as well as initiatives to secure peace on the continent.
Honourable Mhona further reiterated the Ministry’s vision to be a regional hub for World class transport networks and logistics.
“As a Ministry our vision is to be a regional hub for World Class transport neworks an logistics and services by the year 2030” ,said Minister Mhona.
The new aircraft will double passenger capacity and frequencies on domestic and regional routes.
