BICA bemoans growing number of unregistered colleges in Bulawayo

Bulawayo Independent College Association (BICA) has bemoaned the increasing number of unregistered colleges which have increased in the province for the past years.

This comes after numerous reports were made to the association about the growing number of unlawful operating colleges in the province.

Commenting during the addressal of the school heads recently at St Columbus High School, BICA representative Mr Elliot Ndlovu, said that the province is currently facing challenges.

“We are facing challenges of unregistered colleges which has affected the institutions ,which are operating within the framework of the law and there is need for the government to step in and assist by enforcing the law and constantly checking the operating licences” ,he said.

Bulawayo currently has 37 registered independent colleges that are operating, while there are also 178 ecd centres, 147 Primary Schools and 58 secondary schools that are registered under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education.
