President Mnangagwa officially unveiled Baker’s Inn Bulawayo Leeds Street factory in Belmont.

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa recently toured and officially commissioned a state of the art Baker’s Inn plant in Bulawayo.

The plant, which has a production capacity of 160 000 loaves a day, is set to serve the Southern region of the country.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, President Mnangagwa said the investment of USD30million by Bakers Inn indicates the rebound of the manufacturing sector in Zimbabwe.

“I want to, from the onset, to commend Innscor Africa Limited and their Bakers Inn for choosing to make this important investment in Bulawayo. The bold decision is in line with our devolution and discentralisation policy, which seeks to realize equitable development, infrastructure developments, modernization, and industrialization across all our cities, towns, and districts. The expansion project also dovetails with our local content policy as well as made by Zimbabwe by Zimbabwe stories”, said Mnangagwa.

Minister of Industry and Commerce Mangaliso Ndlovu commended Bakers Inn for its contribution to Bulawayo and the Nation’s industrialization agenda.

“I’m also happy to note that Bulawayo has been among the highest industrial investment destinations your Excellency.In addition to this state of the art plant, this province has recorded more than US135 million worth of investments in the manufacturing sector alone creating more than 33 000 direct jobs and many more indirect jobs in this province. This is indeed a testament of private sector led development,” said Minister Ndlovu.

The new Baker’s Inn Plant is equipped with the latest bread manufacturing technology.

Baker’s Inn Automated Plant employs not more than 20 employees and utilises a fleet of 91 trucks that travel over 14,000 km daily. The delivery network guarantees nearly 6000 individuals, vendors, and retailers across the region earn a living.
