The Bulawayo city council has announced emergency water supply interruptions to all residential areas on Tuesday, July 9th.

This is due to repairs needed on a critical raw water pump at the Ncema Water Works.

The pump shutdown will reduce water treatment capacity and lead to dropping reservoir levels across the city. To protect the distribution system, Bulawayo will temporarily suspend its regular water rationing program and shut off supply to homes entirely for the day.

BCC advised that residents can expect water service to resume on Wednesday, July 10th, after the repairs and reservoir stabilization are complete.
