Wrestling superstar John Cena has announced his retirement from the sport, effective next year.

The 16-time WWE world champion made the announcement at the “Money in the Bank” event, receiving a mixed reaction from the audience.

47 year old, John Cena, has been a prominent figure in the WWE since 2000 and is tied with Ric Flair for the record number of championships.

Despite considering retirement before, Cena feels the timing is now optimal, with the WWE at an all-time high in popularity. He plans to complete 30-40 dates through 2025, marking the end of his wrestling career.

Cena has also found success in acting, starring in films like “Barbie,” “The Suicide Squad,” and the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
While many wrestlers have retired and returned, Cena insists that this is his final farewell.
