Russia launched a mass missile attack on Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine. According to officials, the aerial assault killed at least 41 civilians and injured 149 others.
The strikes targeted Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, Pokrovsk, and Kramatorsk, damaging around 50 civilian sites, including residential buildings, a business center, and two medical facilities.
In Kyiv, 27 people were reported killed, including 3 children, with 82 more injured. Additional casualties were recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions as well.
Authorities state that the attacks represent the deadliest strikes in Ukraine in months, with casualty figures comparable to major Russian offensives last winter. Power infrastructure was also damaged, with 3 transformer stations operated by Ukraine’s largest private energy company destroyed.
The Ukrainian government has condemned the missile barrage as a blatant war crime targeting innocent lives. Officials say the latest Russian assault has left many civilian areas across the country devastated.
