A recent Crime Liaising Committee meeting in Victoria Falls brought attention to the lack of visibility of Tourism Police in the area.

The meeting, held yesterday, aimed to address concerns and enhance collaboration between law enforcement and residents.

A representative from the Rainforest Association expressed concerns that persistent vendors are negatively impacting the visitor experience, potentially harming Victoria Falls’ reputation as a premier tourist destination.

Chief Inspector Moyo acknowledged the existence of a Tourism Police unit but cited a staff shortage as a challenge. Measures are being taken to address the issue, including consultations with stakeholders willing to assist.

Fawcett Security has offered to donate necessary equipment to support the Tourism Police. The collaboration between law enforcement and private security firms is seen as a positive step towards enhancing safety and improving the tourist experience in Victoria Falls.
