Botswana President Declares Half-Day Holiday to Celebrate Tebogo’s Historic Olympic Win

In a gesture of national pride, Botswana’s President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi has declared a half-day holiday for citizens to celebrate Letsile Tebogo’s groundbreaking victory at the Olympics.

Tebogo, dubbed “Botswana’s sensation,” made history by winning the 200m men’s race in Paris yesterday, becoming the first Tswana athlete to achieve this feat.

In a press release, President Masisi expressed his pride and admiration for Tebogo’s outstanding performance, stating that it deserves to be celebrated in a unique and special way. The president also extended his gratitude to Tebogo and his late mother on behalf of the citizens of Botswana.

The half-day holiday, effective this afternoon, is a testament to the nation’s joy and appreciation for Tebogo’s remarkable achievement.
