Costar Takawira, Director of Baldmin Holdings, has pledged a reward of USD $1000 each to Zimbabwean athletes Makarawu and Charamba for their historic achievement of becoming the first two Zimbabweans to reach the 200m finals in the same race.

At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Makarawu and Charamba delivered outstanding performances, securing their spots in the finals. Makarawu finished sixth in the finals with a remarkable time of 20.10 seconds, while Charamba achieved a world ranking of eighth with a time of 20.53 seconds.

Baldmin Holdings is deeply invested in grassroots athletics development in Zimbabwe, demonstrating its commitment through various initiatives. Earlier this year, the company sponsored the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe’s Gift Junior Championship with a generous donation of USD 5,000. Additionally, Baldmin Holdings has been instrumental in helping Zimbabwean athletes secure sponsorship opportunities in the USA, further supporting their growth and development.

Costar Takawira, Director of Baldmin Holdings, is a renowned former athlete who excelled in the 200m and 400m events at the local level.
