Chicken Inn ‘Stuns’ Bulawayo Chiefs in Derby Thriller

In a captivating local derby at Luveve Stadium yesterday afternoon,Chicken Inn defeated Bulawayo Chiefs 2-0, thrilling their home crowd and showcasing their dominance throughout the match.

The action began with intensity, as Chicken Inn’s Brian Muza had an early opportunity saved just two minutes in. Bulawayo Chiefs responded quickly, earning their first corner at the 12-minute mark. However, a defensive blunder by Kudzaishe nearly put Chicken Inn at risk.

For the first 23 minutes, Chicken Inn controlled the game, attacking from all angles. Feldman came close to scoring, but his shot was expertly handled by Bulawayo’s goalkeeper, Prince Nhlanhla Phiri. As the half progressed, Charamba missed a critical chance, sending his effort over the bar, leaving the score at 0-0 as the teams headed into halftime.

The second half brought a turning point when Bulawayo Chiefs suffered an injury to Blessing, which weakened their defensive line. Capitalizing on this, Chicken Inn exploited the open flank. In the 64th minute, Malvin Hwata found the back of the net, putting Chicken Inn ahead.

Chicken Inn responded with a double substitution, bringing on Majika and Danny Phiri to reinforce their attack. As the match progressed, they sealed their victory with a second goal from Joseph Tulani late in the game.
