President Mnangagwa Mourns the Passing of Justice Selo Masole Nare

President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has mourned the death of Retired Justice Selo Masole Nare, the former Chairperson of the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) and Labour Court Judge who died on Saturday .

In his condolence message President Mnangagwa acknowledged Justice Nare’s invaluable contributions to both the legal and educational sectors, highlighting his steadfast dedication to national service throughout his career. President Mnangagwa added that the country had lost a key figure who spear headed the quest for peace and justice.

Justice Nare began his professional journey as a primary school teacher before transitioning to the judiciary, where he joined the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) as a court interpreter. His commitment to public service saw him rise through the ranks to become a magistrate and later a Labour Court Judge. In 2018, he was appointed by President Mnangagwa to lead the NPRC, where he played a pivotal role in fostering national peace and reconciliation. Justice Nare retired from public duty last year.
