Funeral Service for the late Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube to be held this evening

The funeral service for Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube, a ZANU-PF Politburo member and former member of Parliament for Makokoba, is set to take place today, at 17.30hrs at his home in Killarney, 168 Shirley Road, Bulawayo.

Retired Colonel Dube passed away yesterday at the age of 83 while receiving treatment at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo last night.

Dube played a pivotal role in Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle, serving as a leader of ZAPU’s military wing, ZIPRA.

After independence he worked Zimbabwe National Army as Director of Signals and later transitioned to the Ministry of Defence, where he held the positions of Deputy Secretary and Director of Research and Development.

Throughout his career, Retired Colonel Dube served as the Managing Director of Zimbabwe Defence Industries, board member of the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation, and Deputy Chairman of TelOne. In 2012, he was appointed chairperson of Marange Resources and also served on the United Nations Advisory Board on Disarmament.
