Armed Robbers Target Belmont Steel Company in Brazen Attack

A group of seven armed robbers stormed a steel company in Belmont on Monday, 15 October, terrorizing employees and making off with a substantial amount of cash and valuables.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the robbers stormed the premises, overpowering security guards and workers. The suspects, brandishing pistols and a pickaxe, tied their victims with shoelaces and threatened them with violence. One worker who attempted to flee was struck on the head with the pickaxe.

After securing the premises, the robbers made off with a significant sum of money, including USD 32,500 and ZAR 300. Valuables and cellphones were also stolen.

ZRP is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the National Complaints Desk or report to their nearest police station.
