Artiste Babongile Sibanda to Lead 100km Anti-Drug Walk to Plumtree

Plumtree- based soulful musician, Babongile Sibanda will embark on a 100km walk from Bulawayo to Plumtree on October 19 as part of an anti-drug awareness campaign. The event aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage those struggling with addiction to seek help.
Event organizer, Handy Sibanda, expressed concern over the rising drug abuse among young people in the area, which has had a devastating impact on the community. He praised the support from residents, local churches, and youth groups in helping make the three-month planned event a reality.
“We are very much excited about this anti drug campaign that will be taking place this Saturday that we have been planning for the past 3 months, getting help and support from the locals, Babongile and his brother Lewis and Sithabile Moyo are to walk 100km from Bulawayo to Plumtree as part of the awareness” said Sibanda
Babongile Sibanda and his brother, Lewis Sibanda will lead the 100km walk from Bulawayo to Plumtree, joined by Sithabile Moyo from South Africa, who is supporting the cause.
The Vintage Nation Crew will organize a march around Plumtree, meeting the walkers upon their arrival. The march will culminate with speeches by officials from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Ministry of Health, Social Services, and local churches. DJ Yugoe will keep the energy high with a 12-hour set from 7AM to 7PM.
