72-Year-Old Matobo Man Arrested for Killing 39-Year-Old Neighbor in Home Boundary Dispute

A violent altercation over yard boundaries in Tombo Village, Matobo, has led to the death of 39-year-old Mncedisi Ndebele, allegedly at the hands of his 72-year-old neighbor, Gibson Ndlovu.

According to a statement released by the Zimbabwe Republic Police on their official X page, the incident occurred on the 19th of October 2024, at around 3:00 a.m. Ndebele reportedly confronted Ndlovu at his home, accusing him of encroaching into his yard.

During the dispute, Ndebele is said to have attacked Ndlovu with a machete, injuring his left hand. Ndlovu managed to disarm Ndebele and fatally struck him multiple times.

Following the attack, Ndlovu reportedly left Ndebele’s body on a rockery in his yard. Police were called, and the body was transported to United Bulawayo Hospitals for post-mortem. Ndlovu has been arrested in connection with the killing, which is believed to stem from a long-standing boundary dispute.
