Vice President Mohadi Attends Venice Biennale to Promote Zimbabwean Art

Vice President Kembo Mohadi is in Italy attending the prestigious 60th Venice Biennale, commonly referred to as the “Arts Olympics.”

The event, which began on April 20 and runs until November 24, showcases global works in theatre, dance, music, and architecture under the theme “Foreigners Everywhere.”

The VP’s visit aims to enhance cultural diplomacy, boost tourism, and strengthen economic ties. Zimbabwe is proudly represented with a pavilion at Santa Maria della Pietra, displaying works from prominent artists such as Gillian Rosselli, Troy Makaza, Sekai Macheche, Moffat Takadiwa, Victor Nyakauru, and Komborerai Chapfika.

This year, the Venice Biennale features 333 artists from 88 countries, celebrating artistic innovation and fostering youth involvement in the arts. The event not only promotes sustainable art practices but also supports employment opportunities within the cultural sector.

Held biennially in Venice, it remains one of the world’s most renowned art exhibitions, drawing attention to diverse cultural expressions.
