Awa Khiwe Set to Return to Music Scene in Style with Surprise Release

Award-winning Zimbabwean Hip Hop artist Awakhiwe Sibanda popularly known as ‘Awa Khiwe’, based in Germany, is set to return to the music scene with a surprise release of her work titled, ‘Rap Gandaganda’, on the 7th of November 2024.

Produced by Ghanaian Stallion and Outhere Records, this new release marks Awa’s comeback following a break from the industry.

In a recent interview with Skyzmetro FM, Awa Khiwe expressed her excitement for the surprise she has in store for her fans and encouraged fans to subscribe and await its release.

“Am so excited I can’t wait, I have been waiting for this moment for two years, two years ago I decided to give myself a break and just focus on my health because I was not feeling well but I have been missing the game, I have been missing realizing music and performing so this is a very special moment for me and I can’t wait”, she said.

“I don’t want to talk too much of that is definitely something, I don’t want to talk too much of that, it’s a surprise and fans of rep music should go and search for Awa Khiwe on You Tube and subscribe and wait for the Album it’s dropping on the 7th of November”, added the rap star.

Awa Khiwe, is originally from Nkayi, Zimbabwe, and was raised in Nkayi and Makokoba in Bulawayo. She began her music career in 2012 and is known for performing in traditional Ndebele attire and rapping in her mother tongue. Known as “The Village Girl,” her music addresses important social issues such as gender-based violence and child marriages.

Awa Khiwe’s achievements include Best Female Hip Hop Artist in Zimbabwe (2016) and Outstanding Hip Hop Artist at the Bulawayo Arts Awards (2021). She has performed across Europe, including in Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
