Nkomwa Foundation Trust Donates Assistive Devices to Beitbridge Community

The Nkomwa Foundation Trust, in partnership with the Department of Social Development handed over assistive devices to 5 local learners and 1 community member in Beitbridge on 29 November.
The donation included essential items such as crutches and wheelchairs, benefiting six individuals, including one recipient of a wheelchair.
In addition to the assistive devices, the foundation also provided sunscreen lotions to persons with albinism in the district, further demonstrating its commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
In an interview with SkyzMetro FM Pick Nkomwa, the Executive Director of the Nkomwa Foundation Trust, emphasized the importance of assistive devices for the functionality and independent living of people with disabilities.
“These assistive devices are so key to PWDs as they enable them to actively participate in community development, and for those in school they can now actively participate in school activities” Nkomwa emphasized
Mr. Nkomwa also highlighted the organization’s ongoing commitment to mobilizing resources to reach out to all needy members in the district, ensuring that no one is left behind.
“We really have a lot of work to do as they are many more PWDs in need of these assistive devices, will continue to engage with other departments so that we continue donating these devices to those in need” he said
