The National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) of Zimbabwe and the Institute for Competitiveness (IFC), India, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering competitiveness, innovation, and productivity within Zimbabwe.
The agreement is set to focus on accelerating Zimbabwe’s economic growth by enhancing its competitive balance, enabling local products to compete more effectively on the international stage.
The key areas of collaboration outlined in the MoU include training programs on the macroeconomics of competitiveness and industry analysis and capacity building initiatives focused on developing a municipalities competitiveness index, improving ease of living, and promoting export development.
This partnership follows Zimbabwe’s inaugural National Competitiveness Summit, held this week. The summit aimed to increase Zimbabwe’s participation in the global economy and provide a platform for discussions and policy interventions related to national competitiveness. The MoU with the IFC is seen as a concrete step towards implementing strategies discussed at the summit.
