The Bureau of the Pan African Parliament (PAP), under the leadership of President Chief Fortune Charumbira denounced United States of America (US) unilateral sanctions on South Africa.

Addressing the media, Chief Charumbira strongly criticized the sanctions, characterizing them as a backward imperialist tactic that infringes on state sovereignty.

“We want to condemn in all words possible the imposition is sanctions on South Africa by America, that’s a very bad and outdated game that the western world has always tried to play on countries on this continent. They have used sanctions but they do not learn how these sanctions infact makes Africa stand more in unity against them” said Charumbira

The sitting of Permanent Committees and related meetings of the 6th Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) is being held in Midrand, South Africa under the African Union Theme of the Year for 2025: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations”. The event is set to conclude on the 28th of February 2025.
