The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested Tauya Maguwu, a 33-year-old man, in connection with a series of thefts spanning over four years across Bulawayo. Maguwu faces charges related to a total of seven theft cases.

According to police reports, Maguwu is implicated in a series of unlawful entries and thefts between January 2021 and March 12, 2025. The stolen goods, primarily household items and electronics, are valued at approximately US$3,500. One of the more prominent incidents took place in December 2021 in the Nketa suburb, where a variety of electronics, including a laptop, a Starlet HD decoder, and speakers, were taken.

The most recent theft occurred on March 12, 2025, in the Sizinda area, where the suspect allegedly stole a Samsung home theatre system, three blankets, and a 50-inch Samsung television. Authorities have successfully recovered a portion of the stolen goods, with an estimated value of US$1,900, from Maguwu’s possession.

As investigations continue, police believe that the arrest could potentially link Maguwu to other crimes.
