John Nyikadzino Appointed Bulawayo Chiefs Head Coach

Bulawayo Chiefs FC has announced the appointment of veteran football coach John Nyikadzino as the club’s new head coach, following the recent departure of Takaendesa Jongwe.

The appointment was confirmed in a press release issued by the club on Wednesday.

Nyikadzino, a well-respected figure in Zimbabwean football, brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven record of success. Over the past decade, he has become synonymous with promotion campaigns and disciplined tactical setups.

He led Chapungu FC into the Premier League in 2013 and guided them to a semi-final berth in the 2015 Chibuku Super Cup. He achieved further promotions with Nichrut FC in 2018 and Sheasham FC in 2022.

Speaking on the appointment, Bulawayo Chiefs FC Chief Executive Officer Thulani Javas Sibanda expressed full confidence in Nyikadzino’s capabilities to steer the club into a new era.

“After an exhaustive selection process, John Nyikadzino stood out due to his remarkable achievements and his deep commitment to developing competitive teams,” said Sibanda.

“We believe his tactical discipline, passion for the game, and results-oriented approach will inspire our players and fans alike.”

Nyikadzino holds a CAF A license, the highest coaching qualification on the continent, and is known for his structured training regimes, clear game strategies, and ability to build cohesive squads from limited resources. His arrival is seen as a strategic move by the Chiefs, who are aiming to reposition themselves as serious contenders in the domestic league.

“We are excited about the future and confident that under his guidance, Bulawayo Chiefs FC will continue to grow and achieve its set goals,” added Sibanda.

The club is expected to begin pre-season preparations in the coming weeks, with Nyikadzino tasked with assembling a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours in the upcoming campaign. His appointment has already sparked interest within the local football community, with many keen to see how his influence will shape the team’s performance.
