The son of former President Robert Mugabe is facing an additional criminal charge, adding to serious allegations already before the courts.
Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe appeared in court alongside his co-accused, Tobias Mugabe Matonhodze earlier today. The pair are facing charges of attempted murder and pointing of a firearm. Prosecutors have now added a charge of defeating the ends of justice.
The matter has been postponed to March 3 for a bail application hearing.
It remains an allegation at this stage, and the accused have not yet entered a plea. We will continue to follow developments and provide verified updates as the case proceeds.
