Family Voices Shine at CARA Awards with Two Wins and Six Runner-Up

Zimbabwean a cappella group Family Voices has recorded a strong international showing after winning two awards and finishing runner-up in six categories at the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs) in the United States.

The group won Best Global Song and Best Traditional Album/EP, recognising their blend of Zimbabwean musical roots with modern vocal arrangements.

They also placed runner-up in several categories, including Best Global Album, Best Hip Hop Song for Munhu Wese, Best Religious Song and Album, Best Traditional Song for Madodana, and Best African Album/EP.

Madodana also enjoyed local success, spending 10 weeks on the Skyz Metro FM Gospel Top 10 chart and breaking into the Top 5.Family Voices chairperson Brighton Ncube thanked global supporters for the recognition, saying the awards reflect strong international appreciation of their music.

Speaking to Skyz Metro News, Family Voices chairperson Brighton Ncube expressed gratitude for the global support that contributed to their success.

“We would like to thank the support we received from people from different parts of the world. Winning two international awards in the United States is a huge achievement for us, especially in a global a cappella community where groups from across the world submit their music. We are truly grateful and hope to continue receiving your support,” he said.

The group, made up of eight members and operating under the Family of God Church, continues to build international presence, with upcoming performances including the Ekhaya Music Festival.
