Government prioritises productivity and women empowerment at ZITF conference

Government has reiterated its commitment to improving labour productivity and increasing the number of people engaged in productive work, as part of efforts to grow incomes and strengthen the economy.

Speaking at the International Business Conference held during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo recently,Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube, , said the country’s economic strategy places strong emphasis on investing in human capital.

He highlighted that government is prioritising key areas such as health, education and skills development to support a more productive workforce and drive sustainable income growth.

Professor Ncube also stressed the importance of women’s participation in the economy, noting that empowering women has a significant impact on productivity.

He said policies being implemented by government are aligned with the goal of promoting inclusion and ensuring that women are fully integrated into economic activities.
