The Embassy of Zimbabwe in South Africa has issued an urgent safety advisory urging Zimbabweans in South Africa to exercise caution following reports of unrest in parts of the country.

In a statement, the mission said it received updates from its consulates in Johannesburg and Cape Town indicating incidents that may threaten the safety of foreign nationals, including Zimbabweans.

Authorities say protests have erupted in several areas, with some demonstrations reportedly targeting foreign nationals, raising fears of violence and possible displacement.

Zimbabweans are being advised to avoid protest areas, limit movement, and remain indoors where possible. The embassy also urged citizens to stay in contact with family and report any emergencies to the nearest consulate.

The advisory comes amid heightened concern over security in affected areas.
