Pumula East Man Arrested For Raping 4 year old

A 41-year-old man from Pumula East has been arrested for aggravated indecent assault and rape involving a four-year-old child after he allegedly lured the minor to his home and committed the offence.

Speaking to SkyzMetro Bulawayo police Spokesperson Inspector, Nomalanga Msebele said the incident occurred on the 17th of May at around 3pm when the suspect visited a family friend’s house asking for food and was assisted.

Police said the suspect later convinced the child to accompany him to the shops before allegedly taking the minor to his home where the offence took place.

The child’s mother reportedly became suspicious and followed them before discovering the suspect in the act, leading to his immediate arrest.

Inspector Msebele has since urged parents and guardians to closely monitor young children and avoid leaving them unattended with strangers or acquaintances.
