Four Die in Lupote Road Accident

Four people have died, while 23 others were injured following a road traffic accident in Lupote, Hwange District, Matabeleland North Province.
The accident occurred on Tuesday at around 4:30pm when a Mazda T35 truck carrying 26 people reportedly lost control before veering off the road and plunging into a ditch.
The passengers were congregants from Dongamuzi in Lupane District who were travelling to Lupote to attend church services at Maranatha Pentecostal Services Church.
Police say all four people who died in the accident were women.
Among the injured are three children and nine adults who sustained serious injuries, while 11 others suffered minor injuries.
The injured were initially taken to Lupote Health Centre for treatment, with some later transferred to Hwange Town for further medical attention.
The Officer Commanding Zimbabwe Republic Police Matabeleland North Province, Commissioner Steven Kazingizi, confirmed the accident.
Police are continuing with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
