Police in Bulawayo investigating a hit and run accident

Zimbabwe Republic Police in Bulawayo are investigating a hit and run road traffic accident which occurred along Mqamulazwe Road near Nketa 6 Garage, on Friday 12 April 2024.
Police say the accident occurred at around 1955 hours. According to a police report, a Silver Kombi marked BCT, with an unknown vehicle registration number,veered off the road and hit a five year old child and his mother who were standing at the edge of the road.
They say the driver did not stop after the accident. The two victims sustained some injuries and were taken to Mpilo Hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing to anyone with information regarding the accident to report at any nearest Police Station.
Meanwhile, another hit and run incident was also reported two weeks ago where a 55-year-old man from Bulawayo tragically lost his life after being struck by a Honda Fit on Percy Iboston Road in Cowdray Park, where the driver fled the scene.
The man, sustained head injuries and died at the scene.
