Active youth Zimbabwe, a Trust registered with the mandate of promoting child and youth development in Zimbabwe received 600 bags of cement from PPC.

Active Youth Zimbabwe’s director and founder Romio Matshazi, said that the donation will help them construct a drug and treatment facility in Pumula South.

Mr Matshazi says they partnered with PPC on a 53km race on the 7th of April 2024.

“As Active Youth Zimbabwe, we are so thrilled and excited to receive donation of 600 bags of cement which is a truck, we’re so excited indeed.

“We would like to utilize these bags of cement through developing the cite. We already have a cite in Pumula South where we want to establish a drug treatment facility,” said Matshazi.

Mr Matshazi added that this is a first step in the development of the project.

“Our community rehabilitation facility will be so helpful to assist people who are in need, the victims of drug addiction challenges,” he said.

The specific objectives of the project are to strengthen capacities of local institutions on anti-drug-abuse activities in Bulawayo province, while providing drug treatment and rehabilitation services.

Matshazi added that drug treatment and rehabilitation center will also act as a youth recreational center where correctional services will be done to bring up responsible members of the community.

AYZ’s program activities and projects are currently based in Bulawayo province.
