The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works has announced a moratorium on the allocation of Urban State Land, effective immediately.
This move is part of a broader effort to improve the administration and management of State Land, which is seen as a crucial resource for national development.
In a press statement, the Ministry emphasized the importance of transparent and efficient systems for managing Urban State Land, stating that it is imperative for this finite heritage resource to contribute to the country’s development goals as outlined in the National Development Strategy 1 and Vision 2030.
The moratorium will remain in effect until further notice, allowing the Ministry to review and strengthen existing policy framework and guidelines for managing State Land.
Stakeholders and members of the public have been asked to exercise patience during this period while the Ministry finalizes its review process.
