Zimbabwe and Zambia are stepping up efforts to create a seamless tourism corridor, with both countries committing to the 24-hour operation of the Victoria Falls Border Post.

The agreement was reinforced at a meeting in Livingstone between Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister of Tourism, Honourable Tongai Mnangagwa, and Zambia’s Tourism Minister, Hon. Rodney Sikumba.

The ministers said the plan reflects the shared vision of Presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Hakainde Hichilema to ease the movement of travellers, traders, and citizens across the border.

The extended operating hours are expected to increase tourist arrivals and strengthen the region’s appeal within the KAZA Transfrontier Conservation Area, one of the world’s largest wildlife destinations.

Both nations also pledged to safeguard the Victoria Falls and surrounding ecosystems to ensure long-term sustainable tourism growth.
