Mwazha Declared National Hero, Mnangagwa Leads Tributes

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Archbishop Ernest Paul Mamvura Mwazha, founder and leader of the African Apostolic Church, describing him as one of Zimbabwe’s most revered spiritual figures.
In an official condolence message, the President paid tribute to Archbishop Mwazha for his six-decade legacy of faith, unity, and moral leadership.
He stated that under his leadership, the African Apostolic Church became one of the largest indigenous Christian movements in Southern Africa.
President Mnangagwa announced that national hero status had been conferred on Archbishop Mwazha in recognition of his immense and significant contributions to Zimbabwean society, adding that his teachings emphasized obedience and good citizenship, a philosophy that has contributed to national development and stability.
On behalf of the Government and people of Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa extended heartfelt condolences to the Mwazha family.
