Nash Holdings founder, Tinashe Mutarisi, has announced the immediate shutdown of the company’s entertainment division, including the popular NashTV brand.

In a statement, the company said music was never part of its long-term strategic plan, though NashTV went on to play a huge role in uplifting artists, especially during the Covid-19 lockdowns. What began as Nash Lockdown quickly became a major launchpad for talents like Saintfloew, Nisha Ts, Raymer and Ninety6.

Mutarisi says while they are stepping away from direct artist management, Nash Holdings will continue supporting musicians, offering guidance, encouraging them to build their own studios and helping them secure professional management.

The closure marks the end of a defining chapter in Zimbabwean digital entertainment, but Mutarisi insists the support for local talent will continue.
