Gwanda Woman Arrested For Allegedly Killing Husband With Axe

A 63-year-old Gwanda woman has been arrested for allegedly killing her 70-year-old husband with an axe following a domestic dispute.

The incident happened on Tuesday at around 5pm at Matshetsheni Village.

Matabeleland South acting provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Stanford Mguni confirmed the incident.

Police allege that Harold Ngwenya assaulted his stepdaughter, Happiness Ndlovu, after she accused him of being a witch. Ngwenya allegedly struck her above the left eye with the back of an axe.

Police stated that his wife, Miriam Ndlovu, intervened, overpowered him and allegedly struck him twice on the head with the axe.

Ngwenya died at the scene, subsequently leading to the arrest of his wife Ndlovu.
