Game Cocks Coach Prince Matore is delighted with his players, but says it is still a work in progress ahead of their first home game this Saturday against Simba Bhora FC, who were recently promoted to the Premier League.

The coach, who expects a productive season ahead added that the team will not undergo many changes as they prepare for the game, revealing that he believes in continuity.

He said , “It is work in progress so far so good , everyone is really working hard to perform. This year is a competetive year so we are pushing everyone to be on the right track. There will not be much of any changes , what is important is continuity we do well everygame and improve everygame because we coming from pre-season so as we progress we will be improving as well”.

The coach praised his weekend opponents, saying they will play to prove their worthiness of playing in the top division and should not be underestimated.

“Their fighting spirit , their willingness to win is higher so we have to even prepare ourselves very much because you can see the determination they have . This is their first games so they want to show that they are in the league to win something so this team coming from Division 1 is very strong , ” said Matore.

The goal is to be champions, according to the coach, who did not mince words when asked by journalists at the Chicken Inn pre-match press conference on Thursday.

“We have always set the same target which is to be champions . It is not easy but everyone in the league is there to fight for the number one spot so whatever we are doing we are doing it to fight for the number one spot “, said the coach.
