ZRP warns the public against engaging in unlawful gatherings

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has warned the public against engaging in any form of unlawful gathering in any part of the country.

In a statement the ZRP’s National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the warning follows a series of circulating messages agitating for violence and unlawful gatherings on social media.

He further urged the public to ignore the offensive messages that are openly agitating for violence and illegal gatherings especially in Bulwayo and Harare.

Citing that the police are alert and would deal decisively with unruly elements bent on disturbing the current peaceful environment.

Nyathi also warned politicians agaisnt sending false information locally and internationally about the security situation in the country.

The public was further urged to report anyone circulating such messages.
