The 20th International Inter-Ministerial Conference on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Population and Development kicks starts

The government of Zimbabwe is hosting the 20th International Inter-Ministerial Conference on South-South Triangular Cooperation in Population and Development 2023 (ICPD30) today and tomorrow.
Zimbabwe was nominated to host this conference last year by the former Zimbabwean minister of health and childcare, current Vice President, Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, at the international family planning conference in November 2022 in Thailand.
President E D Mnangagwa, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Republic to the PPD body for hosting the 20th conference in Zimbabwe.
“As we gather and we take stoke at this important subject before us. I am pleased to highlight that over the years the government of Zimbabwe has made significant strides in implementing the goals of the international conference on population and development.” The president expressed gratitude.
In the welcoming remarks from the minister of social development of South Africa and board chair for Partners in Population and Development (PPD), Hon. Lindiwe Zulu, represented by Mr Linton Mchunu the director general for Social development in South Africa applauded the president of Zimbabwe for inviting PPD to convene on population and development.
“Program director, allow me to than His Excellence the president of the Republic of Zimbabwe, president Mnangagwa for inviting Partners in Population Development (PPD) to jointly conven this 20th International Ministerial conference on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Population and Development right Jere in the beautiful city of Victoria Falls in partnership with the government of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the UNFPA.” Mr Mchunu alluded.
The minister of state affairs and devolution for Matabeleland North, Hon. Mr. Richard Moyo, in his welcoming remarks also commended the event.
“I welcome you on behalf of the Matabeleland North province to to this important occasion, the 20th International Inter-Ministerial Conference on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Population and Development which is one of the meetings loading to the ICPD30. Allow me to extend my very warm welcome to you all distinguished guests to the magnificent city of Victoria Falls and to thank you for taking time of your busy schedule to witness this important occasion.” Hon Richard Moyo said
