First Mutual Health opens 7th clinic

First Mutual Health, a subsidiary of First Mutual Holdings Limited, expanded its national reach with the opening of a new clinic in Bulawayo on Friday.

This move reinforces the company’s commitment to bilateral public-private partnerships with the government and aligns with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 for a middle-income economy.

The Bulawayo clinic marks the 7th in First Mutual Health’s nationwide network and signifies the company’s commitment to improving access to healthcare.

Strategically located in the heart of the city’s Central Business District, the clinic offers comprehensive services including general consultations, an in-store dental department, optometry services, and a pharmacy.

Officiating the launch, Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Cllr Edwin Ndlovu commended the initiative, citing its alignment with the government’s vision for improved healthcare services. He emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare for a sustainable economy and reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting facilities like First Mutual Health that contribute to this goal.

Speaking on behalf of First Mutual Health, General Manager Mr. Wellington Madya highlighted the company’s plans to further collaborate with the government on achieving National Development Strategy One (NDS1) objectives.

In this regard, Mr. Madya announced plans to begin sponsoring the refurbishment of government hospital wards starting in 2024, further enhancing service delivery across the healthcare sector.

The opening of the Bulawayo clinic demonstrates First Mutual Health’s dedication to partnering with the government in improving healthcare access and quality for all citizens of Zimbabwe.
